Certain degree of hypopituitarism has been revealed in a significant number of patients who suffered traumatic brain injuries or subarachnoid hemorrhage. Microhemorrhages, necrosis, tissue infarcts and vasoconstriction are reported as mechanism of hypothalamo-pituitary dysfunction.
